Shambhala published a fantastic little book entitled "Sitting Still Like a Frog" by Eline Snel. It's a wonderful resource for parents and children who have anxiety or difficulty sleeping and calming down. The book comes with an audio CD with 11 mindfulness exercises for children, beautifully read by Myla Kabat-Zinn.

Kids enjoy the muscle relaxation exercise of "The Spaghetti Test" where the aim is to make ones body loose like a noodle. Another favourite for some kids is "The Conveyor Belt of Worries" where kids learn how to manage the onslaught of worry thoughts.

What is amazing about these audio exercises, aside from their effectiveness, is that kids love them and request them. It helps kids to hear that others also have feelings of anxiety, restlessness, and busy minds. While listening, kids calm down and also learn how to breathe through stress, how to talk back to worries and distressing thoughts, and how to settle themselves down inside when they experience upset.

And can you believe the publisher is sharing this audio with us for free on their website??? Thank you!

The book is still worth buying. :)
